Out of Hours
The hours between 6:30 pm and 8:00 am are covered by a deputising service. If you need to contact this service during these hours telephone 111.

Telephone Advice
If you have a routine problem or a question which you feel does not require a face to face appointment then the doctors are all available for contact by phone. Please call reception who will take a message and some details from you, the GP will then call you back within 48-72 hours. Alternatively, you can book one of our pre-bookable telephone call back appointments.

Cancelling your Appointment
If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone or use the link at the bottom of this page to cancel your appointment.

There's an App for that!!

All smartphone users can now download the "SystmOnline" App. This uses your current online account login details so you can book appointments and order prescriptions on the run

Text Reminder

We are able to send text messages to remind you of a forthcoming appointment at the surgery. Please help us to improve this service by making sure we have an up to date mobile phone number. If you wish to opt out of this service please inform reception.

All GP appointments are of 10 minutes duration. It is helpful to bear in mind that it is difficult for any GP to attend properly to several problems in one 10 minute appointment, so please try to ensure you go with one problem, or two at the most.

Named GP

From the 1st April 2015 NHS England introduced a contractual requirement of a named GP for all patients.  Please ask at reception if you do not know who your named GP is, or you wish to change your named GP.  These new arrangements do not prevent you making an appointment or seeing any doctor of your choosing within the surgery as you would normally do.

We operate a walk-in session for blood clinics every day between 8.30am and 10.30am.

For any patients who have difficulties in attending the above times, the blood clinics will run from 7.30am until 10.30am on a Monday.

Please note  we do not offer afternoon blood clinics as our blood samples are collected by the hospital at the end of the morning surgery.

We are running Sit and Wait clinics for URGENT ON THE DAY MATTERS. These clinics will be run between 8.30am - 10.30am by the GP's in sit and wait sessions Monday to Friday.

Please find below the criteria of these sessions:-

  • It must be a new problem and something that can be dealt with on the day.

  • It cannot be used for renewing sick notes, medication queries/reviews, ongoing problems or referrals.

  • You will triaged and may be seen in order of urgency as decided by the Dr.

  • You will be seen on that morning but we cannot give you a time that you will be seen.

  • If the reason for your appointment does not fit this criteria you will be asked by either reception staff or the Dr to book an alternative scheduled appointment.

We hope this information helps you decide which of our services are the most appropriate.

alpine house surgeryThe practice was established in 1984. Since this time, the practice has undergone and continues to undergo major extension and refurbishment in order to keep up with a rapidly growing practice population and the demands of an ever changing  primary care. All consulting rooms are on the ground floor and are designed to meet the needs of all our patients, particularly those with disabilities. The present building works are now complete and this has added four consulting rooms, automated electronic doors at the rear for disabled access, new front lobby for easy access and a newly configured waiting area in order to increase the seating capacity.

We are a partnership of one male doctor and two female doctors and we employ two female salaried doctors, with additional support when needed from regular locum doctors. You are welcome to see any doctor, but we do encourage you to see the same doctor to aid continuity of care, in particular for any ongoing / long term condition

We have a small car park with limited spaces for Patients. There is on street parking available within the area, but we do ask all patients to park responsibly.

The practice prides itself on providing good quality family medicine, delivered in a well organised and timely manner by well trained and motivated professional staff. Please take time to read our mission statement to the right of this page. We are keen to see ALL Minor Injuries here at the surgery, hopefully avoiding unnecessary and inappropriate use of our very busy Urgent Care Centres and Emergency Department. We encourage all our patients to make contact with our Reception Team in order for you to seen / assessed.

This surgery website is used to present all our patients with up to date news and information about our practice. We will keep it current with any developments or other details that we feel are relevant to you.
