After careful consideration, Alpine House Surgery has taken the decision to move to a new computer system. The new system offers greater integrated care with other services such as Out of Hours and Community Services. We feel that this will be a positive step in helping us to develop and continually improve Patient Care.
As with all major system changes we are expecting some disruption to services and we will be taking steps to address this as follows:-
1. Repeat Prescriptions - You may find that on your next repeat, you are given extra supplies of your medication, this has been authorised by the CCG Medicines Management Team and NHS England and is a temporary measure only. Once changes are made, your prescription allowance will revert to the standard two month supply.
2. During the training and transition period from the old system to the new, week commencing 26th February 2018, we will be running an Emergency, On The Day service only. If your request is routine, you will not be offered an appointment, this is because we have limited access to systems and routine issues will be better dealt with once the system changover is complete.
3. Any tests/procedures usually carried out by the nursing team that are essential or due for that week will still be seen, please contact reception as usual.
4. Patient Access will be switched off from Wednesday 21st February, a different version of Patient Access is available in the new system but patient details are not carried over, therefore, we will be making a note of all patient's with access to the current system and would ask that you present yourself at reception with your ID any time from Tuesday 27th March where we can check your previous access and give registration details for the new system.

The practice was established in 1984. Since this time, the practice has undergone and continues to undergo major extension and refurbishment in order to keep up with a rapidly growing practice population and the demands of an ever changing primary care. All consulting rooms are on the ground floor and are designed to meet the needs of all our patients, particularly those with disabilities. The present building works are now complete and this has added four consulting rooms, automated electronic doors at the rear for disabled access, new front lobby for easy access and a newly configured waiting area in order to increase the seating capacity.
We are a partnership of one male doctor and two female doctors and we employ two female salaried doctors, with additional support when needed from regular locum doctors. You are welcome to see any doctor, but we do encourage you to see the same doctor to aid continuity of care, in particular for any ongoing / long term condition
We have a small car park with limited spaces for Patients. There is on street parking available within the area, but we do ask all patients to park responsibly.
The practice prides itself on providing good quality family medicine, delivered in a well organised and timely manner by well trained and motivated professional staff. We are keen to see ALL Minor Injuries here at the surgery, hopefully avoiding unnecessary and inappropriate use of our very busy Urgent Care Centres and Emergency Department.
